EMR - Electronic Medical Report

Electronic Medical Report is functioning partially. All the hardware has been donated by Hewlett-Packard (HP).

EMR application is based on Oracle 9i (Backend) and d2k 6i (frontend). Application is created by GMe (Brij Arora and Deepak).

The use of EMR by Ila Trust has been a great learning experience. It has given us a new dimension of what technology can do for better patient care. For example we now have a record of all our patients, their age, gender, profession, how regularly they use our health care facility, their health problems, our diagnosis of their ailment and the medicines we gave them/prescribed and their efficacy. On the other side, we have a record of each doctor and the number of patients she attended to during the day/week/month; the medicines dispensed by our pharmacy in the course of the day/week/month leading to better inventory management.

The Ila Trust hopes with the program that this would, over time, prove to be valuable information, of use to the wider health care system. For example, we hope that the public health care system in the city of Delhi would find it of use to forecast an outbreak of an epidemic; the kind of diseases encountered, and in which areas the doctors should be paying more attention.
